Dr. (Lt. Gen.) Prem Prakash Varma has joined ILBS after serving in Indian Army for over 37 years. He has completed MBBS from MAMC in 1975, MD (Medicine) from AFMC, Pune in 1986 and DM (Nephrology) from PGIMER, Chandigarh in 1993. He is Fellow of Royal College of Physicians (Edinburg), Fellow American College of Physicians and Indian Nephrology Society. He has been actively involved in teaching graduate, post graduate and post doctoral students. He has performed over 1000 Renal Biopsies, over 500 central venous cannulations and few CAPD catheter insertions. He was also Head of Renal Transplant Team at Army Hospital (R & R) and has participated in over 500 renal transplants. He served as Dean Academics at Army Hospital (R & R). He has over 200 presentations and 58 publications. Presently, he is ‘President Indian Society of Nephrology’.
