Radiology
The department of Radiology provides comprehensive imaging services at ILBS and is one of its kind, in the country to be solely dedicated to the subspecialty of Abdominal Radiology. Department of Radiology employs 8-certified radiologists specialized in abdominal and hepatobiliary imaging. As a team department performs more than 100,000 imaging examinations annually at the hospital. Excellent-quality, radiation safe and cost effective care to patients through medical imaging has been the forte of the department for the past 16 years since its inception in 2009. Radiology was the first functional department of the ILBS out patient service, where the first ultrasound scans were performed even before the first in-patient admission.
The department is devoted to high-quality care with world class equipment and highly trained Radiographers as well as Radiologists. In addition, the department continues to play a key role in advancing imaging technologies including CT (computed tomography), MRI (magnetic resonance imaging), X-ray (radiography) and high-end Ultrasound.
The department integrates imaging with research for further advancement of technology and improved clinical benefits. Our motto includes handover of the torch of knowledge and experience gained in this field through teaching programs to other broad specialties of radiology, to maintain highest quality of care in clinical work and procedures.

New services & facilities added to the department in 2025
We plan to further our department's growth in the field of teaching and research programs as well as design a tele-radiology centre for outreach to remote areas providing them with sub-specialized standard of care in the existing specialty.
